"Mama Joy" McCorkle
She was missing fingers on her left hand because she shot her husband with her right hand and then grabbed the muzzle with her left at the same time. She lived in Alaska. She had wolves. She taught on a Native American reservation for a long time. She loved MHCAN.
Joy McCorkle was an MHCAN board member for many years. When there was a pool of candidates for Executive Director and she only believed in one, she had a heart attack in the middle of the hiring panel and refused to go to the hospital unless the person she wanted was elected (Sarah Leonard).
